A taste of tradition

Walton Diner & Restaurant opened in 2024 on Delaware Street in the Village of Walton. We’re a family-run diner and the sister diner to The New Munson Diner in Liberty — and we cook the same way: hearty, generous and made to be enjoyed in a booth with a cup of coffee.

The diner itself is a stainless-steel classic: a Paramount-built diner, assembled right here in the early 1990s, with polished steel, red stripes and a curved canopy over the door. After standing empty for years, it was restored in 2023 as a 1950s-style diner, and since 2024 it’s been ours.

Inside, the menu runs from breakfast — served all day — to dinner: omelettes and pancakes, paninis and wraps, juicy 8 oz. burgers, homemade Greek dishes from Christo’s Corner, Italian specialties, steaks, seafood, milk shakes and pie.

Walton is a good place to be a diner. The village is home to the Delaware County Fair every August, and it’s the birthplace of William B. Ogden, Chicago’s first mayor — the village library still carries his name.
